NW Washington State

Bio: I am a 44 year old wife and mother. I have been married for 19 years and together with my husband for 23. I have two children, a girl of 17 and a boy of 14. I homeschool my kids. We are Christians, so I may mention God from time to time, but my faith is not the focus of this blog. It does, however, guide my life. We live in the Northwest corner of Washington state between the mountains and the sea. It is a beautiful, jewel-toned place to live with mild winters most years, lots of rain, and 2 very nice sunny, dry months in the summer, and one cool, but nice one. My husband and I have been getting into sustainable living for a few years now. We started with chicks and ducklings four years ago. We added canning our garden produce in 2012. We added rabbits early in 2013 and 2014 has brought in turkeys along with our new ducklings and chicks. I blog about homesteading, gardening, livestock raising, homeschooling, homemaking, being ready for emergencies, living in a way that is sustainable, the kids, and the husband. I might throw in a bit about finances from time to time as well, but for the most part that is in another blog that I have written for the past eight years.

  3. Hey there,

I’m a freelance writer who is currently working on a magazine article about financial solutions/hacks. Sorry to be posting this on your farm-related blog, as I know you also have a Saving Advice profile. I’d love to hear a story or two about your own experiences, since you’re clearly well educated on this topic! Feel free to e-mail me back for further details, or call me at (862) 200-0421.

Hello. I’m looking at your PVC rabbit tractors. Do you have a good source for those 3-way PVC corner fittings? They seem like one of the most expensive components I’m running into.

    • LuckyRobin says:

No, not really. They are the most expensive part and there isn’t really a way to get around that if you want good corners
. We just got ours at Lowe’s.

Hi there, I just found your blog as I searched the internet for information about rabbits, butchering rabbits, weighing rabbits, etc. I’ve been doing this for about a year now, just on & off & I’m loving all your posts. It’ll take me a while to get through all of them, in the meantime, thank you for writing about your experiences. It’s very helpful to me. I don’t have the most organized brain so it helps me to read about others experience.

I’m glad you are enjoying the blog. When I started, I could not find a lot of information about kit weights, so that was one of the things I really wanted to put out there.
